The Radial City Plan 

    In projecting a city with a coherent urban plan in every stage of its evolution, we require a predetermined total urban plan. In deciding the form of such a plan, we must realize that this form is very theoretical and in the end will always require modification according to the demands of the geographical location and the influence of its founding population. With this in mind, we opt for a plan which best seems to fit our needs and purposes. We begin with a radial plan on a two mile diameter circle plus surrounding green belt. The radial plan is chosen, over the gridiron, as allowing greater variety of space and flexibility for adaptation. From the beginning the main transformation of this radial plan would be two superimposed spirals growing out from the centre as principle pedestrian circuits and forming one continuous main urban spine extending throughout the entire city. Additional radial links would give alternative transport and movement from the centre core to outlying areas.
